Since 2019, Texas Regional Bank Empowers Blanco Youth—Contributing More Than $170,000

Texas Regional Bank is once again stepping up to support the youth of Blanco County. On February 1, the Harlingen-based bank announced an additional contribution of $12,900 to help fund student agricultural projects at the Blanco County Stock Show. This new donation reinforces the bank’s long-standing commitment to supporting local students’ growth and development.

Ongoing Support for Youth Development

Since 2019, Texas Regional Bank has donated over $173,000 to Blanco County students. These funds have supported a variety of youth-focused initiatives, including leadership camps, college scholarships, and agricultural projects. Of this total, more than $62,000 has gone directly to agricultural programs like booster clubs, stock shows, and rodeos.

The bank’s support helps students gain practical skills and valuable experiences, fostering a strong foundation for their future success.

Hands-On Learning with the TRB BBQ Trailer

One standout project is the TRB BBQ trailer, a collaborative effort with Blanco County High School agriculture students. Texas Regional Bank provided the resources, and students contributed their skills to build the trailer. This hands-on project gave students real-world experience in construction and teamwork.

“Investing in local youth is a passion for us,” said Erin Needham, regional president. “One investment we are particularly proud of is partnering with the Blanco County High School ag students to help build our TRB BBQ trailer, which gave students a hands-on learning experience and now serves at community events year-round.”

Today, the BBQ trailer is a familiar sight at local parades, cook-outs, Texas State University tailgates, and various community events.

More Than Just Financial Support

Texas Regional Bank’s contributions go beyond financial donations. The bank actively participates in community events, sponsors educational projects, and donates essential items like school backpacks.

“Whether it’s donating back-to-school backpacks, sponsoring ag projects, or delivering pallets of water for the band, we want to ensure that local students have the tools they need to succeed,” said Lance Spruiell, regional president.

This involvement reflects the bank’s belief that investing in today’s youth helps build a stronger, more vibrant community for the future.

A Growing Regional Presence

Established in 2010, Texas Regional Bank has grown significantly over the years. With more than 30 banking centers across the Rio Grande Valley, Texas Hill Country, Houston, and the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, the bank remains committed to supporting local communities across Texas.

Texas Regional Bank’s continued investment in Blanco County’s youth demonstrates a genuine dedication to community development. From funding agricultural projects to collaborating on educational initiatives, the bank’s contributions help equip students with skills, knowledge, and resources for long-term success. As the bank looks to the future, its commitment to supporting the next generation remains stronger than ever.
