The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) recently arrested three suspects involved in a series of commercial vehicle thefts in Chambers County, Texas. The arrests were part of an ongoing multi-agency investigation into thefts targeting parked 18-wheelers over the past month.
Investigation and Arrests
On February 8, 2025, in the early hours of the morning, CCSO investigators were conducting surveillance near State Highway 61 and IH-10. During their operation, they identified a suspicious vehicle linked to the recent thefts.
When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, three suspects fled on foot while one remained at the scene and surrendered. With the help of other law enforcement agencies, including the Texas Department of Public Safety, police successfully captured three of the four individuals.
Suspects and Charges
The arrested suspects have been identified as:
- Jamal Tyler (Houston, Texas)
- Ernest Prentice (Houston, Texas)
- Kaden King-Johnson (Houston, Texas)
All three suspects face charges of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. Additionally, Tyler and King-Johnson have been charged with Evading Arrest or Detention.
Stolen Items Recovered
Authorities recovered multiple stolen items from the suspects and are continuing their investigation to determine the full extent of the criminal activity. They are also working to locate the fourth suspect who remains at large.
