The Heroes: “The Pearland Dads”
The fathers involved, now being referred to as the “Pearland Dads” since their children attend Pearland High School, include:
Abram Trevino – Air Force veteran
Adam Curow – Army veteran
Efrain “Polo” Castillo – Marine Corps veteran
Joe Sanchez – Houston police sergeant
Community Praise and Recognition
The community has praised the fathers’ bravery, with Pasadena Independent School District Superintendent Larry Berger calling them heroes for their courageous response.
Harris County Constable Mark Herman also commended their quick and selfless actions, emphasizing how their intervention stopped a potentially deadly situation.
Despite the widespread recognition, the fathers downplayed their role, saying they were simply there to help at the band competition and reacted instinctively when the crisis unfolded.
This remarkable act of bravery by the Pearland Dads highlights the importance of community, courage, and quick action in times of crisis. Thanks to their heroic response, a tragic situation was prevented from becoming even worse. As the investigation continues, their actions serve as a powerful reminder of everyday heroes among us.
